Our Stories:  "In this immensely complex and difficult situation, if there is ever to be hope for the future, we need to begin with the children."  Dalia Peretz, former principal. Read her story.

Our Stories: "Our political leaders talk about peace. The school that we have started together as Arabs and Jews is making peace, building it every day, every hour."Carmel Ron, parent. Read her story.

Our Stories: "Sometimes it’s hard being an Arab in Israel. But growing up in a school like mine, you don't tag a person ‘Arab’ or ‘Jew.’ We’re all just people, and that’s how we see each other. Some of my best friends are Jewish." Siwar, 11th grade. Read her story.

B'NAI MITZVAH FUNDRAISING

Mazel Tov on your upcoming simcha (celebration).

We invite you, as part of your festivities, to connect with one of the most hopeful projects in Israel, where students your age are the true leaders, creating social change and a more peaceful future.

Raising funds and awareness for Hand in Hand through your b'nai mitzvah is a meaningful way for students to fulfill the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world), which includes the expression of shalom (peace), diversity and respect, shalom bayit
(relationships between people), and limud
(learning).

Click here to read the comments of students who have raised money for Hand in Hand through their b'nai mitzvah.

Publicizing your fundraising project can be done in a variety of ways. You can use websites like Facebook Causes or Justgive.org to invite guests to make donations in your honor and to track results. You can also send a letter — see sample — to further increase awareness.

Some families choose to direct b'nai mitzvah gifts to a specific project, such as covering the tuition of a pair of students (one Jewish, one Arab) for one academic year, or supporting the schools' technology programs.

If you plan to visit Israel, please consider visiting one of our schools. We'd be pleased to arrange that for you. Please contact us with any questions, comments or ideas at info@handinhandk12.org.
