Hand in Hand Community Activist and Alumni Retreat!

February, 2016

71 community activists and 45 alumni from all six Hand in Hand communities came together for a weekend to support one another and strengthen ties between the communities.

Over the two days, the community members explored issues of history and collective memory, and collaborated on future projects. They also discussed strategy on deepening the bilingual and multicultural content in the existing schools the expansion of the Hand in Hand network. They talked about activism and how to create dialogue-based activities that can ensure safety for all. And change the reality around them.

“It was amazing to feel totally accepted for my feelings and opinions, even if others didn’t agree. This conference showed me how much trust there is not only within each community but between our communities; that all over this country there are people who are working towards the same goal.” – Yoel, Hand in Hand community member.
