THE HAGAR SCHOOL

LOCATION: Beersheva, in the southern desert region of Negev

WEB SITE: http://hajar.org.il

Hand in Hand helped found the Hagar School, which is now financially and administratively independent, in 2006. We are proud that Hagar’s initial kindergarten program has flourished and grown to include a bilingual daycare center and an elementary school.

Both Hand in Hand and Hagar share a dream to create a permanent place for bilingual education in Israel and to collaborate on pedagogy and advocacy. Hagar's school principal is a member of Hand in Hand's principals' forum, and staff representatives work in cooperation with Hand in Hand to build curriculum for bilingual education.
