March 24th, 2014 A celebration of color, sound, feeling and creativity, the identity exhibition in the Max Rayne Hand in Hand Bilingual school in Jerusalem was a great success. The exhibit is the culmination of months of learning in the 1st-9th grade classes and included expressions of many layers of identity: personal, familial, communal, religious, and national. Over the course of this project, students learned about their multiple identities, deepening their understanding about themselves and their surroundings.

April 1st, 2014 "But there are gaps in the wall, where a little light gets in."

March 24th, 2014 Both teachers and students won prizes in city-wide events this week. "This week proved once again how our school has become influential in the social and public spheres in Israel. The walls around our school are falling, and the movement is gaining momentum both inside and outside of our community. Wherever I go I am full of pride to be part of our school and community."

The Wadi Ara school, which opened its doors in September 2004, celebrated 10 years this week at the annual spring celebration.

 "In our practices from week to week I watch the students be transformed as they gain confidence and learn to support one another. They came to the competition with fire in their eyes and a drive to win. And they did.”   -          Aviva Naor, Sports Coach at Hand in Hand Jerusalem School As the only integrated Jewish-Arab team and one of the smallest schools in an all-city Jerusalem tournament, nine of our 5th- 8th grade students won individual medals!

Hand in Hand's Rebecca Bardach and Jerusalem School graduate Siwar Eid together with co-founder Lee Gordon, are being warmly welcomed in Houston, San Antonio and Austin.  They are telling the Hand in Hand story at multiple events between February 28th- March 5th, 2014 including at Congregation Beth Yeshurun(Houston), Camp Cho Yeh (Livingston), St. Andrew's Church, St. Thomas Church in Houston as well as a number of private events.   Hand in Hand thanks Texans for their warm hospitality!  

Come hear the Hand in Hand story first hand at Shabbat services in Congregation Beth Elohim in Brooklyn, New York on March 7th. Hand in Hand's Rebecca Bardach and Jerusalem School graduate Siwar Eid will be speaking to the congregation and any guests who would like to join. We thank Rabbi Andy Bachman for his hospitality!  

Areen Nashef and Yaeli Keinan, two students from Hand in Hand's Jerusalem high school, will visit the U.S. this September. Young Professionals for Hand in Hand is hosting the students, along with Executive Director Shuli Dichter and Cofounder Lee Gordon, at a public event on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m.

Hand in Hand: Center for Jewish-Arab Education in Israel held its first national shared communities conference July 18 in the Wadi Ara region of Israel. It was attended by 650 people from around the country.
