Hand in Hand recieves an Honorable Mention in the Dror Prize for Social Change

December 4th, 2015

We are very pleased to announce that Hand in Hand has won an Honorable Mention as part of 2015 Dror Prize 2015 for social change!

We were one of 60 organizations who were nominated for the prize, and one of 7 who made it to the final stage.

The prize committee noted: "Hand in Hand's schools and kindergartens are not just educational frameworks. They are also communities of parents and activists that prove through their daily activities, during calm times and even more so in times of crisis, that shared living and a shared society are possible."

This prize belongs to each and every one of us:

The parents who send their children to these special schools every day;

The amazing teachers who go above and beyond to learn themselves and to pass on the very best bilingual and multicultural education possible;

The school principals, who are all extraordinary educators and an inspiration to us all;

The Education and Community departments, who support all of this ideologically, professionally and logistically;

The Finance and Fundraising departments, who keep our feet on the ground, but also encourage us to dream;

and the thousands of Hand in Hand community members - in the Galilee, Wadi Ara, Jerusalem, Jaffa, Haifa and the Southern Triangle - who do the sensible, natural, right thing, every day - realizing in practice the idea of shared living. So to the Hand in Hand family members - this is for all of us.
