Jerusalem Mayor hosts Hand in Hand students' art exhibit

April 11th, 2016

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat hosted the students and parents for the opening of an exhibit with art created by Hand in Hand students that will be hung in the Mayor’s Office and in the Jerusalem Education Authority for the coming year.

“We thought about telling the kids what to draw, but then decided to leave it up to them. This is part of our educational philosophy - that all children are different and we don’t need to think the same way. It was important for us to show, even in our art, that even though we come from different places, we are still partners in our way of life.”

-Nadia Kinani, principal of the Jerusalem School

In the exhibit there are drawings and paintings made by 40 Hand in Hand students who worked with pencils, paint, oil pastels, charcoal, with the guidance of our amazing art teacher, Ali Anati.
