News Report: Hand in Hand as an Effective Model for Confronting Racism

An Israeli news report highlighted Hand in Hand’s bilingual integrated model as a critical means to address the Israeli education system’s failure to promote coexistence and address racism:

This Israeli TV Channel 1 evening news program examines a special report from Israel’s State Comptroller on “Education for a Shared Society and Prevention of Racism”, which was submitted to President Rivlin on September 22nd, 2016. The report critiques the Ministry of Education for failing to implement programs to address racism or promote coexistence over the last twenty years.

Hand in Hand’s model of integrated and bilingual education is highlighted as a viable solution to create shared understanding and shared society between Jews and Arabs. This conviction drives the staff, families and community members at Hand in Hand. With 6 schools, more than 1,500 students and 6500 adult community members, we continue to expand to meet a growing demand, and offer a transformative educational experience that can impact not only our families but Israeli society.
