President Rivlin's staff visits the Hand in Hand Wadi Ara School

This week the President Rivlin's staff came to tour Wadi Ara. Hand in Hand CEO Shuli Dichter led them on a tour of Kibbutz Maanit, Katzir, Umm Al-Fah'm and the Hand in Hand Wadi Ara school in Kfar Kara.

They asked questions about how the gap between Jewish and Arab citizens came about and spoke about the policy with Jewish and Arab towns since the British mandate. They also addressed the place of civil society in creating shared society – and local and country-wide initiatives to effectively connect Jews and Arabs. Most importantly, they explored bilingual education and its influences on students and on Israeli society.

"We came in to office only 4 months ago, during the war, and this is the first time that we can lift our eyes and look around… This school is inspiring. We go back to Jerusalem with warmed hearts and new ideas for how to fix what is wrong here."

- Harel Tubi Director general of President`s house
