Geezel Jarroush Absawy, Hand in Hand Haifa Elementary School Principal

Geezel has served as principal of the Hand in Hand Haifa Elementary School since 2021. During her term, Geezel has significantly strengthened the school’s pedagogy and dialogue programs and embedded Place-Based Education and Project-Based Learning methodologies into the school. Geezel has also overseen the school’s official recognition by the Ministry of Education as well as its relocation into a dedicated municipal campus, following a successful campaign spearheaded by the Hand in Hand Haifa parents’ community. 

Prior to her role as principal, Geezel worked at the Orthodox Arab School in Haifa, first as a coordinator for 9th grade students and later as the school’s pedagogical coordinator. She has extensive experience in training Jewish and Arab educators, particularly on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL).

Geezel holds a Master’s degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Haifa, and completed Oranim College’s Principal’s Training Program, as well as the Branco Weiss Pedagogical Advisors Program.
